Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She came second at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. The following year, Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making an all-time junior world record running 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest participant in the 200 meter at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 defeating time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top 3 throughout her races in the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
